About the Position
The Director, Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (DORSL) provides administrative leadership, direction and oversight for the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life
(ORSL). The DORSL ensures religious communities are contributing to the College's mission of inclusion and equity by affirming the openness and acceptance of all.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and implement interfaith programs, activities, and services that affirm human dignity through presence and programming for the college community
- Administer the budget and oversee expenditures for programs and operations implemented by ORSL
- Provide counsel, support, and partnership to students, faculty, and staff regarding their religious and spiritual identities, experiences, and explorations as members of the Haverford community
- Develop and support inclusive religious and spiritual initiatives, educational workshops, community dialogues, and capacity building as they relate to the overall well-being of the campus community
- Manage and supervise chaplains, community-based campus liaisons, and leaders of student religious or spiritual groups
Line of Report: The Director, Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, reports to the Vice President for Institutional Equity and Access. The DORSL may supervise campus religious advisors, as well as student leaders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Religion, Theology, Ministry, Counseling, or related field
- 5 years of experience in higher education leadership
- Experience in facilitating interfaith programming working with college students
