Overview:
The campground maintenance technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of a campground or outdoor recreational facility. While specific duties may vary depending on the size and type of the campground, typical responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
- Grounds maintenance: Groundskeeping activities including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, removing debris, and maintaining landscaping to enhance the appearance and safety of the campground.
- Facility maintenance: Inspect campground facilities such as restrooms, showers, picnic areas, trails, and campsites regularly to identify maintenance needs. Coordinate repairs, cleaning, and upkeep to maintain facilities in good condition.
- Trash and Recycling Management: Collecting and disposing of trash and recycling materials throughout the campground, ensuring that waste is properly managed and the area remains clean and litter-free.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards. Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.
- Campsite Maintenance: Inspecting and preparing individual campsites for incoming guests, which may involve cleaning fire pits, clearing brush, and ensuring that picnic tables and tent pads are in good condition.
- Customer Service: Providing friendly and helpful assistance to campground visitors, including answering questions, providing information about facilities and recreational activities, and addressing any concerns or complaints.
- Maintenance & coordination of the pool, testing chemicals, cleaning surface, power washing deck & chairs
- Seasonal Maintenance: Performing seasonal tasks such as winterizing facilities, preparing campsites for the summer season, and conducting regular inspections to identify and address any maintenance issues.
- Use of heavy machinery like bobcat to spread gravel
- Collaborate with other departments: Coordinate with campground management, administrative staff, and other departments to support overall campground operations and customer service initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in facilities management, landscaping, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, or groundskeeping
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools, lawn care equipment, and maintenance machinery.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Responsibilities
- Survey buildings to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards and report to Property Manager
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
- Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
Skills
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pool experience preferred
- Genuine desire to exceed guest's expectations
Shift: Sun-Thurs 9am-5pm, On Call for evenings.
