Essential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare, direct and monitor land management projects including timber sales, roads, site preparation, tree planning and forest health maintenance.
- Develop annual wood budget and wood procurement plan while considering strategic and logistic plans for long-term wood supply generated from company lands, controlled stumpage, and purchased wood sources.
- Coordinate procurement activities including setting usage projections and inventory targets; Plan the production and delivery of specified volume of wood.
- Manage contractors with regard to performance, reliability, capability, quality, and environmental performance .
- Maintain current knowledge of logging and wood delivery costs; by-product markets and stumpage values.
- Represent UPM Blandin Forestry group with customers, agencies, and other stakeholders; Participate in external forestry meetings, forestry educations tours, and PR activities.
- Collaborate and support the Forest Ecologist in planning, operations management, information availability, leadership and partnerships.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Forestry or related field required.
- Prefer five years' experience in forestry related work.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be highly motivated, safety conscious and self-directed team player in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to develop, prioritize, plan, implement and manage activities to meet targets and deadlines.
- Technical knowledge and practical expertise in the areas of forest ecology, wildlife management, soils, and silviculture
- Thorough knowledge of all field forestry skills including timber appraisal, land surveying, road layouts, photo interpretation, mapping, silviculture, and forest inventory.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in use of personal computers and related software applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Geographical Information Systems.
- Ability to collaborate and partner with contractors, landowners, and agency foresters.
Travel: Frequent travel required.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
