IPS - Rubbercraft is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 - Gerber Tech/Material Prep (1st Shift)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the company’s Mission, Vision & Values

Drive positive customer experience and actively contribute to continuous improvement

Weighing and pre-forming material for the pressline per router instructions
-
Weighing and pre-forming material or cord stock for the insert prep department per router’s dimensional instructions
-
Mixing small batches of material as required
-
Calendaring materials with fabric, Teflon or plastic skins
-
Maintaining proper part identification and traceability
-
Sign off proper router instructions and in-process verifications
-
Operating rubber cutting machines, while following all proper safety guidelines

Complete assignments in a timely manner
-
Be able to follow department manager’s instructions as required
-
Be able to read and understand (English or Spanish) process routers and travelers
-
Perform visual in process inspection of product and segregate non-conforming product from production
-
Assist as required or assigned throughout the facility
-
Suggest process and manufacturing improvements when and if insufficiencies exist on Opportunity For Improvements (OFI) Forms

Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook or directed by the Molding Foreman

Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
-
HS Diploma, GED or 2+ years in a similar work environment

1-2+ yrs experience working with calendars, uncured elastomers, mills, tools and rubber cutting equipment

Bilingual - English & Spanish preferred
-
Knowledge of adhesives and measuring equipment such as calipers and scales
-
General knowledge of rubber cure systems
-
Able to lift 50 lb.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
-
On the job training will be conducted on Procedures and Work Instructions from the area of responsibility.

Yearly refresher training on FOD, Calibration, Documentation control and Safety Topics.
