Responsibilities:
- Performs inspections and preventive maintenance on client fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Performs diagnostics and repairs on repairs to include but not limited to brakes, fluid leaks, air leaks, and routine repairs.
- Completes written PM inspection forms and order parts with service administrator and follow communications and paper-flow procedures.
- Conducts final operational tests on vehicles to quality-check all repairs.
- Maintains written repair orders.
- Verifies equipment condition before and at completion of each work order
- Verifies shop equipment and work-truck equipment by performing daily checks.
- Cleans and organizes work area at the end of each day/week.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a diesel technician 2+ years minimum
- Inspector and brake inspector training certificates of sufficient experience.
- Extensive knowledge of air brake system diagnostics, repairs and federal standards.
- Well versed in all preventative, predictive, routine, non-routine and emergency maintenance tasks associated with light, medium and heavy duty trucks/equipment primarily powered by diesel engines and auxiliary equipment i.e. tanker, box, PTO, and pump trailers.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Must possess own tools required for normal maintenance and routine repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
Familiarity with tire service, soldering, welding, and heavy lifting is a plus
