Job Summary
The production supervisor monitors the manufacturing processes critical to the company's operation. The schedule will be 1st shift (6:30am to 3:30pm).
Job Duties
- Schedules production and qualifications for their departments
- Design the room schedule based on demand, constraints, etc.
- React to change regarding scheduling (change in demand, change in resources, etc.)
- Responsible for changeover improvement plans, performance tracking
- Monitor job processes.
- Fills our paperwork for jobs completely and properly.
- Manages people; consistent policy deployment (safety, absenteeism, interviewing, termination, operator discipline, systems)
- Responsible for the training of operators.
- Handle any quality and/or people issues.
- Accountable for business metrics (safety, quality, delivery, and cost)
- Constant communication with the team leads.
- Develops Team Leaders
- Hourly timekeeping approval
- Support lean initiatives and workshops on the plant floor
- Conduct quality audits
- Leads walkabout process for their area (visual boards maintained, task trackers, etc.)
- Demonstrates client’s core values of honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Other duties as assigned.
Impact
- Monitors daily manufacturing processes for their department to ensure production of received orders.
- Communicates with Operations Manager to make necessary changes for production of product.
The supervisors' responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out safety policy and procedures as directed by the department manager.
- Promoting and maintaining enthusiasm with respect to safety.
- Conducting thorough accident investigations and submitting them to appropriate personnel on a timely basis.
- Conducting periodic safety inspections of their areas.
- Assuring that employees are provided with and wear proper protective equipment.
- Participate in Job Hazard Analysis, by identifying and documenting any safety concerns.
- Participating in safety meetings and providing ideas to improve the safety function.
Skills/Technical Skills
- Communication and people skills
- Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Black Belt preferred
- Leadership
- Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Applications, Lotus Notes, and E-mail.
- Working knowledge of MRP systems
- Ability to work any shift including 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
