The basic function of the Van Dispatch Support Clerk for Tri Star Freight System, Inc. (“TSFS”) is to support the logistics department with the shipping of freight. The Van Dispatch Support Clerk performs a variety of logistical, clerical, basic accounting and administrative duties required to keep the logistics department functioning as directed by the President/CEO.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
(with business classes preferred)
- At least (1-3) years’ experience in a clerical or administrative role.
- At least (1-3) years’ experience with MS Office applications; Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
(Experience must include computer skills, word processing and spreadsheet knowledge)

DUTIES AND TASKS
- Input inbound freight loaded on trucks daily with loading dates and ETA’s.
- Input outbound freight coming into warehouse daily.
- Pull, create, complete and/or review Carrier Status Reports.
- Report daily loaded/unloaded freight on Truck Report and distribute.
- Match freight as it becomes available daily.
- Input/print all outbound bookings, dispatch cards and export cards daily/throughout the day.
- Input shipments in Load Builder.
- Send BOL’s to the other Tri Star warehouses.
- Complete in or out warehouse charges on all carrier routed freight that has not been turned back.
- Help Export with unloading LTL drivers.
- Check in drivers on all commercial loads that the customer routed with them.
- Input shipments in the domestic web.
- File the export bookings in files each month.
- File the import loading papers and export flimsies for each month.
- File emails on all export shipments/Status Reports daily.
- Get drivers to sign, put disclaimers on BOL (carrier routed/LTL’s).
- Ensure to follow procedure when other port agents send drivers to pick up their freight, get card from Import and have ready for driver to sign card.
- Research invoices from LTL carriers that Tri Star did not route.
- Complete and perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
