In this role, the successful individual will protect our critical information, systems, and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy.
- Monitor STG’s networks and endpoints for security incidents, events, and alerts.
- Detect/identify/classify security incidents, acting on investigations and remediation.
- Responsible for security tool configuration, daily maintenance, and monitoring of security tools, updating of antivirus/malware platform, detection and response to security alerts and other information security measures.
- Ensure systems and software configurations comply with STG’s Information Security requirements, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide system-level logs and details related to potential security investigations.
- Conduct regular assessments across systems to look for vulnerabilities in systems before they can be exploited.
- Ensure users understand and adhere to necessary procedures to maintain security.
- Assist in the development and periodic review of security procedures and policies.
- Assist in and support the implementation of information security related projects.
- Assist in the maintenance, monitoring, and operation of email and internet security tools and controls.
- Assist in delivering security awareness.
- Assist with and maintain regular KPI (key performance indicators) and status reports.
- Interface with multiple vendors and contractors as required.
- Identify the need and priority for security patches and report on their compliance.
- Maintain security documentation.
- Work closely with Information Security Leadership for technical guidance and assistance with security operations
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in cyber security or a related field; or equivalent work experience with a basic competency in at least one cybersecurity functional area of expertise: network security operations, endpoint security operations, operational technology, identity access management, security architecture, or threat hunting.
- 3 or more years’ experience with configuration and monitoring of information security platforms such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, Antivirus/EDR, encryption, vulnerability testing, firewalls, web proxies, patch management, logging/auditing, identity access management systems, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), etc.
- Experience with current versions of Microsoft Windows required; Linux, MacOS, IOS, Android experience a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based security in a Microsoft Azure/Entra ID environment.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with both internal team and external vendors.
- Must demonstrate a positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude at all times.
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in both verbal and written communications.
- Recognized information security professional certificate, or equivalent training and work experience, preferred.
- Occasional travel for site-based support or professional development required.
- Must be available for extended hours and alternate schedules as needed.
