2024 Trail Apprentice Program
The Partnership for the National Trails System's (PNTS) 2024 Trail Apprentice Program is currently accepting applications through June 17th, 2024 from young adults aged 20-28.
PNTS seeks passionate individuals with the desire to learn about National Trails and careers in outdoor recreation, public lands, history, trails, and related fields.
The PNTS Trail Apprentice Program provides scholarships to young leaders interested in a career in recreation, natural resource management, conservation, environmental studies, history, or a related field, so that they may attend the PNTS National Trails Workshop and participate in leadership development, career exploration, networking and educational opportunities amongst the National Trails community.
The 2024 program will begin in August 2024 and end in February 2025. This is a remote program with a time commitment of about 10 hours per month. Selected apprentices are required to travel to Tucson, AZ November 17-21 for the National Trails Workshop event.
Selected Trail Apprentices will:
- Participate in leadership development activities
- Actively participate in virtual activities between August 2024 – February 2025
- Receive a scholarship to attend the 2024 National Trails Workshop in Tucson, AZ (November 17-21, 2024)
- Gain opportunities to network with established professionals and explore trails careers
