We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced SOP Writer to join our team, focusing on developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) that support our pharmacy accreditation efforts.
Job Summary: The SOP Writer will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining comprehensive SOPs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards in the pharmacy setting. This role requires a thorough understanding of pharmacy operations, accreditation processes, and regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to develop effective and compliant procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop SOPs: Write, review, and update SOPs to ensure compliance with accreditation standards (e.g., URAC, ACHC, NABP), regulatory requirements, and best practices in pharmacy operations.
- Research Regulations: Stay informed about current regulations, guidelines, and accreditation standards that impact pharmacy practice. Conduct thorough research to ensure all SOPs are up-to-date and compliant.
- Collaborate with Departments: Work closely with pharmacy staff, quality assurance, compliance, and other relevant departments to gather information, understand workflows, and ensure SOPs accurately reflect operational practices.
- Standardize Procedures: Develop standardized procedures to promote consistency, efficiency, and quality across all pharmacy operations.
- Conduct Training: Assist in the development and delivery of training programs related to new or updated SOPs. Ensure all staff members understand and adhere to the procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in internal audits and quality assurance activities to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous compliance with accreditation standards.
- Document Control: Maintain a systematic approach to document control, ensuring all SOPs are properly formatted, indexed, and accessible to relevant staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of pharmacy operations through effective SOP management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in SOP writing, preferably within a pharmacy or healthcare setting. Experience with pharmacy accreditation processes is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, accreditation standards (e.g., URAC, ACHC, NABP), and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and guidelines to practical procedures.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification: Certification in Technical Writing or related field.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare regulations and pharmacy management software.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess processes and identify areas for improvement.

- Hours: Standard business hours with occasional need for flexibility based on project deadlines.
