GENERAL PURPOSE
The Process Technician provides direct support to PHOENIX activities in the performance of laboratory tests and equipment demonstrations that are simulations of PHOENIX equipment at a customer's facility. The Process Technician is also called upon to provide assistance and support with Customer application investigations, process development, and process system startup and optimization.
NATURE OF THE POSITION
The position interacts directly and indirectly with PHOENIX Customers through requests for assistance from the Sales and Marketing and the Service Departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with testing and result reporting of samples received from Customers, and aid in the determination of the performance capability of Phoenix equipment.
Assist with field demonstration tests utilizing PHOENIX mobile demonstration equipment at customer sites.
Assist field service technicians during equipment startups
Provide general upkeep of Demonstration and Laboratory equipment.
Perform process department administrative functions including data reduction and reports.
KNOW-HOW
Position requires previous mechanical and process training or relevant work experience with mechanical and wet process equipment. Knowledge and experience in basic laboratory techniques and safety precautions for chemical use is preferred. Mathematical, written & oral communication, and people skills are necessary.
WORK REQUIREMENTS
Days and hours of work are approximately Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the ability to work outside of business hours from time to time as required by PHOENIX.
TRAVEL
This position requires an extensive amount of overnight travel.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Process Technician is accountable for the condition of demonstration and laboratory equipment, and the complete, accurate and timely reporting of demonstration and laboratory test results in support of Sales and Service efforts. Performance guarantees, sales activities and decisions, and job site start-up planning are based upon these results. The Process Technician is directly accountable for his personal safety and the safe performance of assigned personnel, and for performing all assigned duties in a thorough and professional manner. The Process Technician reports directly to the Process Department Manager.
