Add’l Compensation: 20-30% of Salary, plus Equity
About Us:
Riverview Companies is rapidly acquiring landscaping businesses throughout the northeast U.S. and is hiring a VP of Finance to lead its acquisitions and accounting team. Riverview has recently acquired and integrated 7 landscaping companies in the past 18 months in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and is now the premier landscaping and snowplow company with over 140 employees serving over 3,000 properties. We provide full-service landscaping and snow management services to commercial and residential customers, and our vision is to expand our footprint in the northeast U.S. by acquiring over 20 new landscaping companies within the next 2 years.
Riverview is partnered with Talus Holdings (www.talusholdings.com), an investment firm that backs businesses focused on growth through acquisition. Riverview is one of five active consolidation strategies within the Talus platform.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a VP of Finance to oversee all aspects of financial diligence for new acquisitions, manage relationships and diligence requests from financing partners, provide forecasting and financial analysis to leadership and its Board, and oversee our internal financial bookkeeping processes and procedures.
This is a great opportunity for a candidate with an investment banking or private equity background interested in becoming a key part of our leadership team to oversee and execute our large pipeline of acquisitions. Riverview currently has four acquisitions under LOI to acquire by summer 2024 and another 20 companies in its acquisition pipeline.
This is a full-time position with a compensation mix of base pay plus bonus. This role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive program. You will be expected to work from home or in the office, depending on your location. This position will report directly to the CEO.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead financial due diligence efforts for target acquisitions, including analyzing historical financials, determining strategic fit, performing valuations, and structuring deal terms.
- Oversee the transaction closing process among attorneys and any financing partners.
- Liaise with financing partners by responding to requests and ensuring compliance with financial covenants.
- Oversee and manage the financial model and track various internal KPIs.
- Monitor ongoing financial performance and provide key insights to the team.
- Manage the seasonal financial planning process among our various managers and track financial performance.
- Oversee the accounting team to ensure transactions are accurate and timely, including payroll, AP, AR and cash
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions
- 5+ years work experience in related field
- Proven track record of completing acquisitions, financial planning, or investment management
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Team player
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or CPA
- Management experience
- Knowledge of GAAP and tax codes

Pay: $180,000.00 - $260,000.00 per year
