We are looking for skilled and enthusiastic Mechanics to maintain, repair, and overhaul aircraft engines. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems. A successful mechanic should be thorough, reliable, honest, logical, and motivated. You must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Perform such typical maintenance operations as the removal and replacement of aircraft and powerplant components that require bolting, torqueing, adjusting, rigging and safety wiring to include powerplant removal/installation.
- Read and utilize blueprints, maintenance manuals, ATA codes, illustrated parts catalogs, service bulletins and other maintenance documents to troubleshoot and complete work assignments.
- Promote safety within the workplace by monitoring others and yourself to guarantee all tasks are performed within the safety manual guidelines, and communicate with other mechanics and supervisors to coordinate repairs and keep apprised of safety concerns
- Keep detailed records of the inspections performed, repairs finished, and maintenance procedures
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; perform preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, repair, clean, service, modify, replace and/or overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems using approved data to ensure airworthiness.
- Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task.
- Perform work within estimated hours.
- Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
- Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner.
- Work with leads and supervisors to accomplish assignments with little or no rework.
- Interface effectively with members of management, other departments and co-workers.
- Replacing and repairing of aircraft parts
- Diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical problems
- Testing and supporting performance standards while also keeping records of all your maintenance and repair work
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a postsecondary program in aviation or automotive service technology a plus
- Certification in a related field from a vocational school a plus
Experience:
- 18 months of practical experience with either power plants or airframes or automobiles.
- Experience in engine performance preferred
- Experience with technical manual database software
- Experience with engine analysis software
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Will be subject to mandated drug and alcohol testing with random checks.
- Must be able to work any shift, overtime and holidays as required.
- This position requires an individual when working at heights to utilize fall protection equipment that has weight limitations.
- Excellent active listening, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic.
