Alesong Brewing and Blending is a boutique, artisan brewery, winery, and cidery specializing in barrel-aged beers and located in a scenic wine country location roughly 20 miles Southwest of Eugene with additional production and office facilities in West Eugene. Founded in 2015, we have been fortunate enough to receive a number of awards and recognitions including medals at the Great American Beer Festival, the Best of Craft Beer Awards, and the Oregon Beer Awards. We were recently named small brewery of the year at the 2021 Oregon Beer Awards.
Currently managed and staffed by a small team, we are seeking to hire a talented and enthusiastic individual to lead our tasting room front of house staff. As a primary focus, this person will be responsible for all front of house operations at the Alesong tasting room, working in conjunction with the kitchen lead and founding partners to ensure smooth operations and to provide our customers and club members a welcoming, educational, and memorable experience. This will include managing tasting room staffing and logistics in addition to acting in a lead server and front of house role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasting room operations
○ Act as front of house lead adhering to Alesong’s Mission Statement: maintain tasting room processes and procedures as well as the general tasting room atmosphere and culture
○ Team Management: manage servers and non-kitchen team schedules, onboarding and training, and course correction when necessary
○ Direct front of house activities, service priorities, and side work tasks
○ Work as a regularly scheduled server and on-site lead for any urgent issues
○ Manage tasting room logistics including: maintenance of all front of house inventory, menu updates, SOP development, and general upkeep and cleanliness for a pleasant tasting room environment
○ Act as brewery host for industry visitors, VIP guests, and private tours & tastings
○ Manage and coordinate live music program and other minor events
○ Work to support Founders in planning, coordinating, and conducting large events including club releases, dinners, anniversary parties etc.
○ Coordinate, book, and execute large party reservations and private events rentals
○ Work with Founders and Chef to maintain a cohesive hospitality experience
Blender’s Circle Operations
○ Work with the Founders to coordinate activities with the Blender’s circle club
○ Educate customers and staff members on our club process and encourage sign ups
○ Respond to basic customer service inquiries (cancellations, cc updates, etc.)
○ Cultivate relationships with club members and manage club policies and procedures
Other – as a small organization, you will be asked to contribute in other areas as assigned
Reports to: Founder & DTC Director
Schedule: 40 hrs / wk. Wednesday through Sunday. Weekends and holidays required.
Compensation: $20 per hour plus tip share, company sponsored health & dental insurance, 1 week PTO growing to 2 weeks after the first year, 3 paid holidays, cell phone, monthly tasting room credit & beer benefits at releases
