Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in an area of human services, which includes, but may not be limited to the following: psychology, sociology, political science, counseling, criminal justice, pastoral counseling, elementary/special education, or family therapy.
OR
High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus 2 years of experience in direct patient care.
Mental Health Technicians (MHT) at Friends Hospital assist in direct care and management of patients across all age ranges with medical and behavioral issues as directed by treatment team. MHTs assist with unit programming by facilitating and conducting groups and ensuring patients are engaged in active treatment at all times. Assist with daily leisure activities, and all activities associated with daily living within the functional ability of patients and with consideration for the patient's level of growth and development.
