Duties of a Registered Nurse:
- Under the supervision of the RN Unit Manager, the RN/LPN assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of residents/patients for the duration of their respective shift. Nursing care is provided through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
- Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, assessing health outcomes against patient care goals and regulatory standards.
- Maintains continuity among the nursing shifts by documenting and communicating actions, changes, and ongoing issues at shift change.
- Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, med. Cart, medication room, etc.), resident/patient care rooms and treatment areas are maintained and sanitary manner.
- Monitors medication supply and re-orders from pharmacy as needed.
- Keeps medication room and medication cart clean and orderly.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by communicating with resident family members and representatives.
- Complies with laws, regulations, and acts in accordance with North Central Care Center policies.
- Follows HIPAA regulations by keeping all patient information confidential.
- Administering medications in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
- Count narcotics at each change of shift.
- Apply treatments to residents using proper technique.
- Complete resident assessments as needed
- Monitor and assist NACs as needed in resident care.
- Chart all pertinent information in residents’ charts.
- Complete incident reporting as necessary.
- Alert charge nurse of medication order needs.
- And other duties as assigned
Basic Qualification
Education/Training:
- A current degree in nursing from an accredited college or university is required. Current CPR card is required.
Skills:
- Knowledge of basic ADL’s and regulatory requirements. Gerontological nursing is preferred. Computer skills required to complete assessments and documentation. Good communication skills with residents, families and staff. Basic knowledge of frequently used medications in long term care. Must be able to push/pull med cart (approx. 50lbs) during shift.
Experience:
- Previous experience in long term care preferred.

Pay: $36.00 - $55.00 per hour
