Looking for experienced full-time CNAs for our Assisted Living/Memory Care (12-hour nights shifts available)

Position Summary:
Perform the personal care, observation, and rehabilitation of the residents under the direction and supervision of the charge nurse and/or Director of Nursing.
Essential Job Functions:
- Approach all encounters with residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Observe residents and provide or assist with documentation through monitoring
- Look for opportunities to exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfaction
- Assist residents with physical and psychosocial needs based on individual requirements under the supervision of a licensed nurse
- Orient resident to the unit upon arrival and as needed
- Alert residents before entering resident rooms
- Provide a safe, comfortable environment for residents
- Give bed baths and assist with oral hygiene, special skincare, nail care, hair care, shaving of residents, and assist with make-up on female residents
- Perform and/or assist with PM care, including back rubs and placing side rails up at HS, with padding on side rails if appropriate
- Assists residents with meeting their nutritional needs
- Prepares residents for meals
- Serves trays and feeds residents when indicated and documents food intake
- Reports special dietary requests to the nurse
- Pass water and between-meal snacks every shift and as needed
- Maintain availability of clean bedpans, urinal, bedside commodes
- Assist residents to the bathroom as needed and document results on in and outtake (I & O) record
- Make beds, ensuring that bed linens are clean and tight
- Regulate light, temperature, and noise to resident’s needs
- Keep residents unit clean and orderly
- Place resident’s call light within reach
- Regardless of who is assigned to a resident, answer resident call lights promptly
- Assist with proper body alignment under the direction of the nurse
- Frequently lift and position residents with or without the assistance of other personnel
- Utilize the gait belt when lifting and positioning residents
- Utilize the gait belt on the resident when ambulating and/or lifting from standing or sitting position
- Assist with ambulation of residents
- Assist with ordered restraints and protective devices under the direction of the nurse, as per fall precaution policy
- Maintain fall precaution interventions as indicated by established level guidelines
- Safely use a wheelchair, reclining chair, and shower chair
- Complete routine admission procedure including weight, height, vital signs, admission kit, water, and call light
- Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and reports abnormal values to nurse promptly and records.
- Provide foley catheter care every shift and PRN
- Empty foley catheter bags and record amount on I & O record during each shift
- Document all intake and output, food intake on I & O record during each shift
- Report any abnormal skin condition to nurse for appropriate follow-up
- Provides good skincare
- Document daily on Bowel and Bladder sheet as required
- Care for residents in isolation as needed after reviewing procedure with a nurse
- Complete post mortem care as required
- Order supplies for residents as needed.
- Observe and report significant findings regarding resident, family visitors, and restorative program activities to the nurse
- Observe infection control measures
- Practice universal precautions including proper handwashing technique
- Report any grievances and complaints made by residents to a supervisor or Social Services
- Report any allegations of resident abuse, neglect, and/or misappropriation of resident property to the supervisor
- Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy
- Practice standard precautions, infection control, and safe work practices
- Answer telephone according to Kisco policy and standards
- Resolve resident questions according to set policies and procedures
Education/Experience/Training:
High school education or GED equivalent preferred.
Must meet State training requirements and/or certifications.
One to three years of experience required.
Special Requirements/Certifications:
Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) and CPR certification are required.
