Position Overview
WeThrive Learning is searching for a virtual reading specialist with a wealth of experience, a vibrant personality, and a genuine passion for assisting learners of all ages with unique learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized, one-to-one support to Students through remediation, academic support, and curriculum development;
- Watch any training modules presented by Company to start with students
- Guide students to produce high-quality work and promote study skills, time-management, and organization skills
- Set reasonable, reliable schedule for Parents and Students to follow for scheduling and communication purposes;
- Engage in regular communication with Students, parents, and Company
- Communicate with Company about Students each week
- Check Slack channels and respond to all messages contained within the platform within 24 hours on weekdays
- Attend monthly fifteen (15) minute meetings with Company
- Run weekly Sessions with Students to:
- Define goals for each Student and parent
- Send Google Form to Student throughout the week to provide accountability for goal
- Evaluate goals with Student and create new ones when needed;
- Provide frequent feedback and updates to Parents
- Update and reflect on Student goals every week
- Following each Session, Contractor is to draft notes pertaining to the Session and provide to the Parent of each student and Company within twenty-four (24) hours of the Session;
- Provide consultation services to parents/caregivers, specialists, teachers, and other therapists regarding client progress and recommendations
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings as necessary;
- Complete administrative responsibilities such as:
- Documenting session notes,
- Scheduling all Sessions
- Session planning;
- Providing timely follow-up to emails and phone calls (within 24 hours on weekdays)
- Submitting recordings of sessions upon request
- Updating Portal Calendar
- Submitting billing documentation
Experience supporting students with the following learning challenges
- ADHD
- Dyscalculia
- Expressive writing
- Executive Skills/Study Skills
- Reading comprehension
Location
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Familiarity with Orton-Gillingham and The Writing Revolution
- Related coursework or credential in special education, learning disabilities, speech/language development, psychology, educational psychology, or a related field
- 3+ years of executive skills coaching
- Be available for at least 8 hours per week to meet with students on a one-on-one basis
- 5+ years of K-12 classroom teaching or related experience
- Adept at using Zoom, Google Suite (Docs, Gmail, Slides, Sheets, etc.)
- Special consideration will be given to applicants who have earned an Educational Therapy Certificate, are ICF Certified, and/or have been trained in using coaching skills with clients
