Job Title: Carpenter and/or Apprentice Construction Site Supervisor
Reports to: General Superintendent
Work week: Tuesday-Saturday 7:50am-4:30pm Work Hours with 50 min. Lunch at noon. Some overtime may be required and compensated.

Under the direction of the General Superintendent and other senior Construction Staff, the Construction Site Staff works with volunteers and future homeowners of all skill levels to install certain portions of a house. Throughout the building process, Construction Site Staff should pay attention to quality control and compliance with LHFH’s safety regulations. Site Staff duties include:
- Wood framing
- Exterior trim and siding
- Windows/doors/door hardware
- Interior/exterior paint
- Interior trim
- Flooring
- Cabinets and counter tops
- Bathroom fixtures
- Blinds
- Fine grading and landscaping
Job Title and corresponding Salary are based on experience. All individuals work toward the goal of the Construction Site Supervisor position.
A Carpenter should be willing to learn and work in other areas of construction. A Habitat Carpenter is in training to become an Apprentice Construction Site Supervisor and then a Construction Site Supervisor.
The Apprentice Construction Site Supervisor should be an experienced carpenter who is also willing to learn and work in multiple areas of construction. Individuals in this role are in training to become a Construction Site Supervisor. This is a WORKING position, not just a supervisor role.
This will be a Salary-Plus position, meaning employees will be paid a base salary and compensated for overtime if applicable. If the employee works less than 40 hours a week, they will still be paid for 40 hours. Habitat for Humanity offers a generous benefits package for all site staff including:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Some knowledge and experience of the construction trade
- Be punctual and reliable
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Perform installation and any other tasks as directed by senior Construction Staff to meet specific goals
- Interface with volunteers in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with volunteers of widely varying skill levels, from novice to expert
- Willingness to work as part of a team in support of Habitat for Humanity’s mission and goals
- Ability to perform the following physical activities: Standing, walking, working overtime and weekends as needed, exposure to heat, wind and rain, ladder climbing, driving trucks and construction equipment or the ability to learn to do so, ability to lift up to 100 pounds

The Construction Staff works with volunteers and future homeowners of all skill levels to install certain portions of a house. This self-performed work includes wood framing, exterior trim and siding, windows/doors/door hardware, interior/exterior paint, interior trim, flooring, cabinets and counter tops, bathroom fixtures, blinds, and fine grading and landscaping.
Subcontractors for the following trades typically work close to the team:
- Earthwork/concrete foundation and paving
- Roofing
- Insulation
- Drywall
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
Subcontractor and material vendor coordination will be performed by the Construction Director, General Superintendent, and Construction Coordinator along with inspections with support from the Construction Staff on site as needed.
New construction makes up the bulk of the work but may include repair/rehabilitation of existing houses, disaster recovery work, and miscellaneous projects that support the mission of LHFH.
