General Purpose of the Position:
As an Electrical Quality Control Engineer, reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you will perform or assist in various quality control engineering and inspection tasks related to a specific discipline, i.e., civil, structural, mechanical, piping, welding, NDE, and/or electrical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect construction submittals, testing procedures, etc., to ensure they meet contract specifications.
- Develop an understanding and working knowledge of the company’s quality control program, standards, procedures, and codes required to perform assigned work.
- Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to the discipline to determine the acceptability of work.
- Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records, and other related items, ensuring the correctness of all documents.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of quality control procedures, such as inspection instructions and control of measuring and test equipment.
- Coordinate quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.
- Participate in internal and external quality control audits.
- Review purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field or a related area preferred. Work experience in all disciplines of construction (civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing) is preferred.
- Understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance, construction submittals, testing procedures, and inspection of electrical work.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop an in-depth understanding of QA/QC manuals and programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
