Lead Carpenter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter to join our team and grow with us as we provide renovation and new construction services to clients throughout the Pioneer Valley. The Lead Carpenter will perform skilled carpentry tasks including both rough and finish carpentry. They will provide guidance and supervision to the field staff by delegating tasks, responding to client’s request, coordinating with Project Management, and regularly inspecting the work completed to ensure it conforms to the project specifications and quality.
Additional duties of the Lead Carpenter will include (but are not limited to):
· Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship, and polite communication
· Attend all company meetings as outlined by management
· Provide transportation of materials to job sites as needed
· Follow building plans and specifications to meet client’s needs and current building codes
· Maintain a clean and safe working environment
· Meet with subcontractors and facilitate their work
· Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. minimum
· Provide material take-offs
· Verify and confirm material lead times as needed to maintain an efficient schedule
· Inform the Project Manager of the progress of the project, including any customer concerns, problems, delays, etc.
· Be responsible for the efficient and profitable use of the company’s time, manpower, and materials on each project
· Maintain an operational personal inventory of necessary tools, safety equipment, and vehicle to perform the specific activities assigned by management
· Seek additional responsibility and guidance from company management employees as needed to enhance existing skills, learn new skills, and create potential for advancement within the company
The following skills and experiences are required for success:
· Valid driver’s license
· CORI check
· Tools and transportation
· Proven experience in remodeling and new construction
· Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures
· Ability to read blueprints
· Excellent time management skills
· Effective communication skills and strong leadership abilities
· Ability to work independently or in a group
The following skills and experiences are preferred but not required:
· CSL license (perform continuing-ed to maintain license, if applicable)
· Hoisting License
· Lead RRP Certificate
· OSHA 10 or 30
· Mask Fitting
