The primary purpose of this position is to directly supervise CLS II & III and to provide training and supports to staff in order to meet the needs of the consumers living in the group homes. This position is a designated critical care provider.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned group homes.
- Attend scheduled meetings.

Able to be on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to assist staff with emergency situations.
- Hires, trains, and supervises assigned CLS's.

Assists reviewing applications, scheduling, and conducting interviews for direct care positions.
-
Instruct, assign, review and plan work for staff.
-
Monitors staff to ensure assigned duties are completed on a consistent basis.
-
Implements process for filling vacant staff positions.
-
Provides on-going training, in-services, and pertinent information to staff.
-
Complete benchmarks and evaluations.
-
Complete weekly/biweekly 1:1 supervisory meeting with staff.
-
Conduct monthly house meetings.
-
Approve/Reject time in MUNIS.
-
Responsible for ensuring homes have adequate staff coverage, supplies, and groceries to meet the needs of the consumers being served.

Complete weekly grocery shopping lists to be followed by staff.
-
Pick up/return purchase requisitions from/to business office.
-
Complete monthly activity schedule for all houses.
-
Complete monthly menus.
-
Order needed supplies.
-
Assures the consumers Individual Habilitation Plan is consistently implemented as assigned by the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
- Conducts and ensures fire drills are completed on each shift on a monthly basis.
-
Coordinate activities of both staff and consumers.
-
Reports directly to the Program Manager (PM).
-
Cover shifts for a CLS to ensure adequate coverage.
-
If coverage cannot be secured, Lead is to work uncovered shift.
-
Must be able to meet/perform the requirements of a CLS-II.
-
Actively participates as a member of the IDT.
-
Ensure all appointments are scheduled and completed.
-
Assign CLS to attend appointments with consumers
-
Assist with transporting consumers for training/programming purposes, to/from medical/dental appointments.
-
Monitoring consumers of self-administration of medication.
-
Conduct weekly medication count.
-
Participate in person-centered planning and support/services consistent with the schedule.
-
Follow, implement, and enforce all policy and procedures as directed per Metrocare Services (DMS) in the performance of job responsibilities.
- Ensure that precautions are taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the consumers being served.
- Maintain professional relations and work effectively with direct subordinates, peers, PM, clinical staff, families, and community relationships.

Ensure incident reports are accurately completed and turned in to PM within 24 hours of occurrence of incident.

Ensure accident (vehicle) are reported to PM, follow all policy & procedures, and complete paperwork.

Conduct inspections of group homes to ensure home is meeting health and safety guidelines.
-
Ensure fire drills are conducted on a monthly basis.
-
Provide PM with completed copies of drills.
-
Address Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANE)/Adult Protective Services (APS) reports.
-
Provide PM with a copy of the ANE/APS report including confirmation number, DMS incident report, and all actions taken.
-
Vehicle Maintenance.
-
Ensure tags, registration, and emissions testing are up to date.
-
Ensure vehicle logs are completed by staff.
-
Ensure vehicles are clean and/or detailed.
-
Performs duties in accordance with Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) Community Standards, The Council's Outcome Performance Based Measures, and HCS standards.
- Attend/complete required in-service training throughout the year.

Performed other duties assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 years of supervisory experience required.

3 5 years of experience working with people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities required.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.

Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Centers liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
