POSITION SUMMARY
The nutritionist assists in the planning, organizing, coordinating and evaluating the nutrition component of the WIC program at SURCHC. This position will perform that following functions part-time at the Northland Prenatal and Pediatric Clinic location.

Evaluate nutritional status of individuals.

Develop plan of care based on nutritional needs.

Provide counseling to individuals and families in nutrition principles, diet modification, food selection and food economics.

Develop or obtain appropriate tools for effective nutrition education.

Provide appropriate nutrition follow-up

Assist in operation of WIC program
EDUCATION
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public health nutrition, dietetics, nutrition, foods, home economics, or closely related field, including or supplemented by at least 15 semester hours in foods and nutrition including at least 1 course in diet therapy and 1 course community nutrition;
or
A master’s degree in public health nutrition, human nutrition, nutrition education, or dietetics; including or supplemented by at least 15 graduate or undergraduate semester hours in foods and nutrition including at least 1 course in diet therapy and 1 course in community nutrition;
or
Completion of an undergraduate curriculum accredited or approved by The American Dietetic Association (registration or current eligibility for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration).

1 year experience in community nutrition program.

Must successfully complete State required training within 6 months of assignment of duties.

Demonstrated "skilled" office experience.

Demonstrated success in communication, customer service or working with public.

Demonstrated success in managing difficult customer situations.

Demonstrated success in basic computer competence.
