Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our kitchen team. The Cook will assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen, ensuring that all items are prepared and stored according to health and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping produce
- Cooking and preparing various menu items
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and organizing supplies
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages to the Manager
- Ensure all food products are handled, stored, and prepared safely
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff effectively
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with meal preparation and menu planning
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and modifications
- Background in catering or food industry roles
- Ability to use knives skillfully for food preparation
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
