Overview:
Work doesn't have to suck. It just doesn't. If you dread going to your job, you're in the wrong spot. Collectibles, Cards and Games is a growing company with exciting expansion plans. Two shops now with two more being added locally in the next 18 months. We promote from within and want to help our employees increase their professional skills and add marketable expertise to their resumes.
Responsibilities:
- Customer interaction and service at the highest level. We don't sell stuff here. We help customers find the things that make them smile and connect with their hobbies and passions. If this sounds corny to you, this is not the spot for you.
- Provide excellent teamwork and assistance to your cohorts. We get busy. Really busy. If you've ever said "Not my job" while on the clock, you're probably not the right fit.
- Assist in purchasing merchandise from customers. Explain our buying process, assess condition and value, and complete the purchase to the customers benefit as well as ours. The ability to communicate percentages and explain market prices is important.
- Process transactions accurately using our point of sale (POS) system
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor. Organization of merchandise is a top priority here. If you don't have that knack for organizing, well... You get it by now.
- Gotta learn the product. You don't have to be a Super Nintendo expert or a Pokemon master or a Magic tournament champ. But it would help. Even if you're not, we'll catch you up to speed. It does help to have SOMETHING in this realm that you have a passion for.
Experience:
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
- Previous experience in retail sales preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills are a MUST
- Punctuality and dependability.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- High energy level. This isn't a sit down job. It just isn't.

Our starting rate is $15 per hour. If you have demonstrable skills in video creation (including social media), familiar with website coding (not to create but help update content), graphic design or inventory management... We have some room. That is why we offer up to $17 per hour for the right individuals with skills. You don't have to be a professional in these categories. These are just areas that we are focusing on and the more you bring to the position, the more we can offer.
This is a retail position so one weekend day (either Saturday or Sunday) will be required at minimum. There may be weeks when we have people on vacation that it may be both, but that is not going to be the norm.
