We are a well-established Workers Compensation Medical Practice located in Encino, California. We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant/Receptionist to fit this special role of healthcare delivery and related demands. Our office requires a flexible individual to cater to the everyday needs. The position is fundamental to maintain the smooth operations of our daily activities.
ESSENTIAL DAILY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Performing a wide range of office and clerical duties
· Depending upon the specific duties, may work in the front office in an admin/receptionist role, or may provide support to other departments as needed
· Answering telephones and providing accurate information to callers
· Taking messages or transferring calls to appropriate individuals
· Data Entry
· Schedule appointments & communicate to the appropriate parties of the complete information
· Preparation of the applicant packet by mail
· Respond to and create high priority & heavy volume of emails
· Operating office equipment such as (fax machines,) printers, copiers, scanners, and phone systems
· Heavy use of computer for word processing and other applications
· Maintain strictest level of patient confidentiality
· Perform selected medical assistant and administrative duties
· Prepare patients for examination. Take patient histories and vital signs
· Prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments
· Prepare and maintain supplies
· Assist physicians in preparing for exams
· Assist with scheduling of tests and following up on results
· Order and maintain clinical supplies and equipment
· Maintain patient files, records and other information
· Work closely with the physician to receive guidance and instruction for orders needed
· Perform direct patient care as instructed by the physician
· Adjust to quality assurance policies and procedures
· Maintain equipment for use at all times, in a clean and safe condition
· Report to work properly dressed according to the approved dress code
· Adhere to guidelines concerning working hours and break periods
· Manage time effectively to complete all patient and related activities as assigned
· Maintain professional standards and procedures ensuring compliance with corporate policies and with applicable regulations
· Demonstrate support to other co-workers. Effective member of the team. Work well with minimal supervision
· Assist in the solution of problems as directed by supervisor
· Organizational skills and multi-tasking a must
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Excellent bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal communication skills
· Must be willing to travel to various clinics
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Prior Orthopedic Workers Compensation experience and med-legal cases is highly preferred
· Must have 3+ years working experience as a medical assistant or related field in a very busy and fast-paced environment
· Must be used to working under pressure with a sense of urgency while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
· Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
· Valid Driver License/Clean Driving Record and ability to travel
