Field Service Technician
Location- Myrtle Beach, SC / Willington, NC
Looking for a Field Service Technician to cover Myrtle Beach, SC / Willington, NC area. (Gen. Territory). The Field Service Technician job required the daily travel to multiple client sites. Hiring Manager would prefer to only interview techs that have field experience and not those that reported to a single location every day in their previous jobs.
Must have an active driver's license and their own reliable transportation.
The Field Technician/Customer Service Engineer will provide break-fix troubleshooting and repair services to our customers, visiting multiple sites a day in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. General area is the East coast around Wilmington, NC and Myrtle beach and within 100 miles.
General FST responsibilities:
- 40-hrs/week (on-call nights/weekends required).
- Must be able to work overtime when required (limited OT with Manager approval beforehand).
- Must have excellent communications and customer service skills, and demonstrate leadership and creative thinking.
- Provide quality customer support and relations through use of customer management skills and other D1 employees.
- Diagnose machine performance problem.
Installing, repairing and troubleshooting workstations, Printers, Scanners, Routers, & Switches
- Installing and repairing Servers (smart hands)
- We work on Servers (smart hands), Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, POS and Printers
- Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, POS and Printer support
- Troubleshoot and installing in LAN-WAN environments
- Provide some desk side technical support for hardware and software
- Perform analysis to effectively identify potential problems to eliminate problems in the future
- Maintain requisite technical competence to support the hardware and software
- Install, move, add, and change hardware and related peripherals in accordance with the Change Management Process
- Taking appropriate actions to mitigate or eliminate hardware/software problems
- Handle General Territory.
- Perform applicable preventative maintenance, per OEM specifications
Required Skills:
- A+ (Tech can be in process of obtaining)
- Standby and travel are a requirement, normally 150 mile radius
- Needs mechanical abilities and printer break/fix skills as well as PC repair and software
Required Education
- High school/College/Military/Tech School/IT course.
Required Years of Experience:
WILL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED TRAINING
- Would need to be trained on United Airlines Printers and Kiosks
- Trained on Epson printers (1 week in Columbus, OH then 3 months later a second week) Must have very good mechanical abilities
- Would be trained on Bibliotheca library systems (13 days over 3 weeks)
- Would need to be HP certified on laptop, desktop, tablets and printers (we provide the link - it takes about 60 paid hours)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
