The Department of State needs a Senior Database Administrator – a competent and self-starting enthusiast to perform this exciting job. The position of the human resources manager requires the successful candidate to be tasked with the responsibility of overseeing the critical databases in the department, availability of the databases, performance and security of the databases. The position calls for efficiency in managing tasks, hammered to details, and the capacity to interface with a diverse group of people.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain database security.
- Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies.
- Develop standards, procedures, and conventions for use.
- Perform system application and software installation and deployment of application software.
- Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of database administration experience, preferably in a government or international setting.
- Proven experience with database management tools and software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
