Tarzanegy, LLC and our partner ITMS, Inc. is seeking a talented Environmental Project Manager (PM) to support ITMS government clients and projects. This position will allow for 100% remote work.
The Environmental PM is responsible for projects from initiation to close, making sure the work gets done efficiently and satisfactorily. The Environmental PM will work and manage effectively as a team leader, with day-to-day schedules that are constantly changing. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for planning the project process, creating a budget, managing a team, and communicating with clients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees a portfolio of diverse environmental projects and supervises staff.
- Assists in estimation for project proposals and subsequently manages the project budget during execution phase.
- Creates and leads teams that are capable of meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Manages subcontractor interactions, including but not limited to preparation of subcontractor agreements and work packages and approving purchases and work releases.
- Manages client interaction and financial and resource allocation. Serves as ITMS’ point of contact with clients for specific projects.
- Interacts with local military and state/federal personnel to discuss project updates.
- Oversees and maintains high standards of quality control, customer satisfaction and safety programs.
- Provides senior project oversight and expert technical input on complex projects, including but not limited to, O&M systems and PFAS remediation related activities.
- Responsible for managing entire remediation projects, estimating costs within the project, and controlling project budgets.
- Evaluates subsurface characteristics for environmental assessments and remediation projects.
- Identify and develop approaches for site remediation.
- Serve as onsite technical expert, when needed.
- Assists in the review and approval of project related documents and deliverables.
- Conducts project team meetings to review current and future projects, discuss project and/or employee issues, and staff workloads.
- Ensures adherence to client and corporate contract specifications in all activities including Health, Safety, Security, and Environment. Implements the Safety Plan, including inspections, compliance, and reporting.
- Monitor project progress and set deadlines to ensure tasks are finished within the confines of the assignment.
- Evaluate project performance after completion for efficiency and effectiveness, based on project data and experience.
Minimum Skills/Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science or a related major.
- 7+ years of related experience. Experience should include environmental assessment and investigation coordination and oversight, technical report writing, remedial alternative analysis, remedial action planning and execution/oversight, and management of retail petroleum and/or industrial project work.
- Knowledge of general industry processes and practices is required. Experience performing environmental services in accordance with CERCLA, RCRA, and TSCA is desired.
- Working knowledge of Federal, Virginia, Maryland and/or North Carolina environmental regulations is desired.
- Technical writing experience and report preparation is required.
- Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate that they have successfully managed multiple site portfolios.
- Must be self-motivated and possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving, communication, teamwork, analytical, organizational, client service skills.
- Professional certification and previous experience providing environmental consulting support on federal projects a plus (PG or PE).
