Position Focus:
The Operations and Portfolio Manager for Enterprise Applications is responsible for:
Operational support: Equipment procurement/support, vendor/team onboarding, software management, contactor guidance, anchor day facilitation/organization, ITS team events (holiday party, summer picnic).
EA general questions and knowledge: Budget and forecast – annual budget, monthly financials, identifying opportunities and risks of team spend, EA contractor forecasts and spend, EA T&E spend. Facilitation with the ITS Finance Team to understand broader ITS needs and how we can support ITS, communicate any variances or team needs outside of the budget Portfolio management - monthly reviews, identify and help mitigate risks and highlight opportunities for projects. Act as pillar representative for 3 Pillars (Academic, Administrative, Cultural Heritage), monthly IT Portfolio review, annual planning.
Documentation: Oversight of the documentation specialist/s, ensure teams are getting support they need, contractor is completing work as required and on time. As needed assistance for EA Team/3 Pillars.
Essential Duties
1. Lead multiple complex projects; oversee and manage the planning, implementation, communication, tracking and reporting.2. Work with business leadership to define scope. Advise and assist senior staff and/or other clients in the formulation of project budget, project fiscal management.3. Responsible for the full range of the project management lifecycle: discovery initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling, and closing.4. Lead the design and development of project plans and interact regularly with project sponsors, stakeholders, project teams and others in completion of the work and communicating status.5. Review progress of projects and recommend and support improvement strategies where needed.6. Provide expertise and consulting to project managers and other units in project management methodology.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree and seven years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
Required Skill/Ability 1:
Thorough knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software, and equipment.
Required Skill/Ability 2:
Knowledge of IT project management principles (e.g., Agile) and software.
Required Skill/Ability 3:
Well-developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Well-developed interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Required Skill/Ability 4:
Proven ability to lead and manage staff.
Required Skill/Ability 5:
Proven ability to manage multiple/complex projects, meeting deadlines and budget.
