HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT

The Assistant Director of Human Resources will perform HR related functions and duties in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our Facility. This role reports directly to the Administrator.
Duties
- Promote a culture of respect, teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Assist the Director of Human Resources with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, perform pre-employment background and reference checks, orientation, onboarding, annual appraisals and performance improvement plans
- Develop and maintain trust with coworkers by resolving concerns promptly maintaining confidentiality
- Assist with payroll duties such as processing leave requests and verification of time sheets
- Process FMLA, Paid Family Leave and Worker's Compensation
- Participate in employee recognition programs and interdepartmental events
- Uphold a high ethical standard of integrity, confidentiality and non-discrimination
- Update HRIS system and files and ensure compliance with DC Health regulations
- Analytical and project management skills, with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion and act in the best interest of the facility
Job Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Resources
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and great attention to detail
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Demonstrated knowledge of various HR functions such as recruiting, employee relations and performance management
- Maintain confidentiality
