An upscale casual restaurant in Brookhaven is looking for an experienced and creative chef to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will have experience in upscale restaurants/gastropubs and will be creative, skilled, and looking for experience managing a culinary team. This position is responsible for managing the kitchen, food inventory, menu, food preparation, and presentation. This position is perfect for a chef looking to grow professionally and creatively- and for someone looking to 'own' the menu and kitchen operations of a growing independent restaurant. Quarterly bonuses offered.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, culinary education and/or equivalent experience required
- Fine dining culinary skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Management experience
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work under pressure and with a sense of urgency
- Experience with inventory management and purchasing
Duties and responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Executing menu and overseeing kithen operations
- Managing kitchen staff
- Managing food prep, inventory, and planning
- Cleaning and sanitizing work stations, prep areas, and other kitchen areas.
- Performing prep work such as cutting vegetables, preparing sauces, etc.
