Manager, Engineering - Cheeca Lodge & Spa - Islamorada, FL
Job Summary: The Engineering Manager is responsible for the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and functioning of all property equipment. This position also involves training and coaching staff in alignment with the Cheeca culture of guest service. The role oversees and directs all maintenance, engineering, and security staff as well as ensuring employee clock times are correct in ADP and other administrivie duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and ensure proper working conditions of all resort equipment, oversee equipment repairs, and coordinate with vendors for staff training and equipment repair.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and evaluate maintenance, engineering, and security staff. Conduct performance evaluations and ensure developmental plans are implemented.
- Preventive Maintenance: Ensure daily vacant room checks and preventive maintenance checks are performed. Conduct random inspections of hotel facilities.
- Safety and Compliance: Oversee Fire and Safety training for all staff annually and as needed. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws concerning the engineering department.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the ordering and timely receipt of supplies, document equipment needs and repairs, and ensure accurate payroll documentation and submission.
- Guest Service: Exemplify the high level of guest service expected of all employees. Greet all guests encountered on the property and handle guest requests and complaints efficiently and professionally.

- Experience: 2+ years leading an Engineering/Maintenance team. Experience in golf course maintenance or as a Greenskeeper is a plus.

Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an engineering leadership role, preferably in a hospitality environment. Previous experience in hotel maintenance or engineering is preferred.
- Skills: Knowledge of computers, ability to maintain strict confidentiality, thorough knowledge of hotel facilities, and strong command of the English language for clear communication with guests and staff.
