This is a wonderful opportunity to get your foot in the door of a very successful, mid-size chemical manufacturer. The company needs a well qualified manufacturing controller that can start immediately on an interim basis and train with the controller that is leaving. This position has the potential of becoming permanent, but their immediate need is interim.
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
JOB SUMMARY: The Controller is responsible for the leadership, management, and continuous innovation of the Company’s corporate accounting function. This includes financial reporting and operating metrics, treasury management, credit and collections, asset management, and ensuring financial regulatory compliance. The Controller also leads a team of six: accounts payable (1), accounts receivable (3), general ledger (2), financial reporting (1).
JOB DUTIES:
· Lead the development of the Finance & Accounting Team personnel.
· Directly responsible for the oversight of all finance and accounting functions.
· Manage the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous optimization, innovation, and improvement.
· Safeguard the Company’s investments and assets through establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
· Monitor actual performance versus business plan and forecast.
· Oversee the Company’s product costing process to ensure accuracy.
· Prepare financial regulatory reports, excluding federal and state income tax returns.
· Supervise all financial reviews and audits, including those by independent accountants, regulatory agencies, customers, and suppliers.
· Develop recommendations and solutions using large levels of data
· Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited 4-year university required, with CPA certification very desirable.
· 5-years of finance and accounting experience within a mid-sized manufacturing company.
· Public accounting, with an emphasis in manufacturing, is highly desirable, but not necessary.
· Thorough understanding of inventory, standard costing, absorption, and unallocated costs.
· Excellent leadership, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· ERP experience (e.g. JDE Edwards) and systems integration knowledge and experience.
· Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, and sometimes stressful, environment.
