Project Engineer will coordinate input from various engineering and management teams, ensuring consistency and quality in design reviews, and facilitating communication with the Progressive Design-build Contractor. They will ensure that the design aligns with project goals and standards, address stakeholder feedback, and adapt to other duties as needed to support the project's success. Their ability to manage complex tasks and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders is key to this role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of Tunnel and Trackwork Deputy Design Manager in a team environment with other project and discipline engineers.
- Coordinate engineering and management input from multi-disciplinary team including civil and right of way, geotechnical, structural, tunnel and track, property protection, mechanical, electrical, transit systems engineers, threat and vulnerability, safety, and security. Review design review comments for consistency of approach and appropriateness based on submittal topic.
- Interact with Progressive Design-build Contractor.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (preferably structural or geotechnical discipline) or Construction Management, higher degrees preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in conjunction with large ($12B+) heavy civil public works, deep tunnel transportation, or transit projects in the design phase, involving Progressive Design-Build delivery method.
- Must be able to work in-person at Santa Clara project office location (no remote work)
- Must have proficiency creating schedules in Primavera 6
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working for or with a Contractor is a plus.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be proactive, organized, and work in a fast-paced environment.
