Grant Writer Job Description
About the company – ATOCO, Inc. is a startup company founded by the distinguished scientist Prof. Omar Yaghi, the inventor of MOF and COF chemistry. ATOCO is currently working on technologies in the fields of atmospheric water harvesting and CO2 capture. www.atoco.com
This position will focus on identifying, defining, and developing additional funding sources to support additional program activities. This position will lead the preparation, writing, and submission of grant applications and proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies.
Roles and Responsibilities
Grant Research and Identification
· Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including government agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.
· Monitor funding opportunities and stay updated on trends and changes in funding priorities related to nanotechnology.
Proposal Development
· Collaborate with R&D team members to understand project goals, methodologies, and outcomes.
· Write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals, including executive summaries, project descriptions, budgets, and supporting documentation.
· Ensure proposals are tailored to meet the specific requirements and priorities of each funding source.
Project Management
· Develop and manage timelines for proposal submissions to ensure deadlines are met.
· Coordinate the collection and assembly of required documentation and supporting materials.
· Review and edit proposal content for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with funding guidelines.
Stakeholder Engagement
· Build and maintain relationships with funding agencies, foundations, and other potential sponsors.
· Communicate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment of project goals with funding opportunities.
· Participate in meetings, presentations, and negotiations with funders as needed.
Reporting and Documentation
· Maintain detailed records of all grant submissions, funding status, and outcomes.
· Prepare regular reports on grant activities, successes, and areas for improvement.
· Assist with the preparation of post-award reports and compliance documentation.
Reporting and Documentation
· Support H2MOF’s affiliate companies when required based on management’s guidance.
· Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering or relevant field from an accredited institution
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a grant writer
· Proven record of securing major grants
· Knowledge of grant application process
· Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
· Follow procedures with keen attention to details
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
