PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Engineering Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of Insitec’s project engineering activities. The purpose of the role is to lead the technical activities of a multidisciplinary project engineering team that is embedded within the customer’s project organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project engineering team, ensuring the successful execution of projects.
- Drive systems engineering process in accordance with relevant industry standards and defense acquisition framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology development and integration with business goals.
- Represent Insitec’s engineering capability when collaborating with customers and other relevant stakeholders.
Engineering Management:
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful and timely project delivery within the project framework.
- - Work closely with the Chief Engineer to implement, and continuously improve engineering management systems, such as information, requirements, or configuration management systems.
- - Develop and implement engineering policies and procedures.
- - Perform technical reviews and quality control of work products and engineering deliverables.
Team Management Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Define clear objectives and provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations to team members.
- Promote professional development and provide opportunities for continuous learning to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
CORE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership position, and in the management of defense acquisition projects.
- Experience managing technology teams and driving successful project execution.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of system engineering and life cycle processes.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align technological solutions with business objectives.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
- Experience with maritime electronic systems integration desired.
- Experience with US Coast Guard or US Navy acquisition projects desired.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
