Job Summary:
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner who provides routine patient care and management of patients with acute and chronic complaints and conditions to a Pediatric patient population in a Family Practice setting seeing on average three to four patients an hour.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Obtains and documents complex health history, performs physical examinations with assessment of normal or abnormal findings, educates patients on preventative health measures.
2. Provides patient care based on practice guidelines standards of care and federal/state laws and regulations.
3. Documents and maintains patient’s records of care on Health Center EMR.
4. Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders laboratory, x-ray, EKG’s and other special exams in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
5. Develops and institutes appropriate treatment plans per protocol. Treatment will include the care of acute and chronic medical problems as well as contraceptive services.
6. Educates and counsels patients about diet, exercise, health status, and other therapeutic health maintenance matters.
7. Consults with Director of Pediatric Medicine and other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve patient problems or concerns. Makes referrals as patient’s needs require.
8. Documents patient assessment, counseling, interventions and treatment plans etc. by using established Health Center EMR documentation practices. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
9. Orders and furnishes medications according to written standards.
10. Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
11. Participates in continuing education courses, staff meetings and clinical meetings as assigned.
12. Maintain productivity satisfactory and consistent with agency’s goals.

Pay: $53.00 - $56.00 per hour
