A Quick Job Summary:
Our Human Resources Consultants serve as a subject matter experts for clients on topics such as: HR compliance; employee relations, including performance management; employment policies; employment law compliance; workplace conflict issues and positive employee engagement.
Work Schedule, Location and Remote Work Environment:
Our team is fully remote and has been since way back 2017. This position is remote and will be performed from your home office.
NOTE: We do prefer that our new remote team member reesides in Arizona, Utah, North Carolina, or New Jersey where we currently have employees.
We use tools like MS Teams, Outlook, Slack, VoIP phone, cell phones and laptops, etc. to collaborate with our clients and with one another.
Our team members set flexible schedules that work for them, their families, and for our clients.
Generally, this HR Consultant position will require between ~15 and 29 hours per week; approximately up to 5 hours may be performed in the evenings and on weekends if desired.

Minimum Education
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related field of study, preferred; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- THRP, PHR or SPHR; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
Preferred Work Experience
- 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist
- Expereience supporting HR needs in multiple states
Required Skills
- Proficient knowledge of major federal employment laws and regulations
- Ability to conduct comprehensive research on complex HR topics and leverage findings to develop innovative and effective solutions for our clients
- Ability to brainstorm multiple acceptable solutions for various HR questions/problems; communicate options to clients, including HR best practices, risks and liabilities
- Strong customer focus with the ability to quickly build strong, trusting relationships with clients and across the organization
- Proven ability to successfully facilitate projects; drive and execute with tangible results
- Demonstrated ability to deliver successful outcomes to complex issues
- Strong active listening, negotiating & conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fully-remote position working from home office
- Tech-savvy; interested in assisting clients with their own payroll/HRIS systems
- The ability to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information viewed
Essential Duties
- Coach and advise business owners/clients on human resources matters, including employee relations best practices, policies, programs or processes and how to respond to workplace issues appropriately.
- Assist clients with a very wide variety of questions related to local, state and federal laws as well as company policies.
- Assist with EEOC, DOL and other legal claims as directed.
- Provide guidance to clients regarding unemployment claims and various other state benefit programs (like disability leave programs, FML, etc.).
- Provide general educational guidance to clients and their employees regarding employee benefits; collaborate with clients' insurance broker(s).
- Assist with the development of comprehensive job descriptions, performance evaluations, employee surveys, and other high-level HR projects.
- Conduct compensation analysis and present benchmarking reports to clients.
- Provide hands-on assistance with recruiting and hiring strategy and administration.
- Assist with clients' recruitment and selection administration needs such as discussing job offers with candidates and drafting offer letters, etc.
- Draft custom Employee Handbooks and related procedures.
- Prepare reports and analyze data for trends.
- Regularly communicate with clients' employees to provide employment resources, answer their questions and support their happiness and success on the job.
- May assist with/lead workplace complaint investigations.
