American Plastic Toys, located in Walled Lake, Michigan, is looking to hire a Quality Control (QC) Inspector, for both 2nd and 3rd Shift, in our Toy Assembly Department. The QC Floor Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet the company’s quality standards throughout the production and packing processes. This role involves inspecting plastic parts at various stages of production and packaging, identifying defects, and working with production teams to implement corrective actions. The inspector ensures product quality, compliance with standards, and enhances customer satisfaction.
We offer an ATTENDANCE BONUS in addition to the hourly pay rate, so it can pay up to $2.25 (2nd Shift) and $2.50 (3rd Shift) more per hour!
- 2nd Shift: 3 pm - 11 pm, Monday - Friday
- 3rd Shift: 11 pm - 7 am, Monday - Friday
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Visually check for correct UPC’s, parts, correct pack, boxes, defective parts, etc., on the assembly floor.
- Check ten parts per hour from molding and bulk inspect two boxes per line per audit schedule.
- Hold product as needed, tag bins and/or pack goods. Instruct hi-lo driver or stocker if product is defective. Inform QC and Assembly Supervisor of held or stopped product.
- Review product at skid line periodically throughout the shift for correct stack and date stamp.
- Review bulk molded parts during shift.
- Complete the molding room activity sheet in the molding department.
- Prepare the molding report and distribute it to appropriate staff.
- Check with the bulk line inspector for any molding issues.
- Assist Assembly Supervisor with shift start up as needed and assist training any new assembly employees.
- Update the shift inspection sheets for off shift Assembly Supervisors.
- Assist with rework of bulk or packed product as needed to keep line running.
- Refill cleaner bottles for workstations in assembly department.
- Relieve the bulk line inspector for shift breaks.
- Additional duties as assigned by QC or Assembly Supervisor.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing and/or production environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to solve issues.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office products.
