Provides instructional leadership in various areas, including compliance with federal, state, and local policies, while moving the Delon Kellogg School District forward.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Serve as the Special Education Administrator.
· Assist the Superintendent with Grants and Special Projects.
· Assist and guide school principals on curriculum adoption and professional development.
· Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations related to education and school administration.
· Student count compliance.
· Assists in the development of and administer all budgets related to curriculum, instructional programs, assessment, staff development, and grants.
· Assists in establishing and maintaining good relations with civic, professional, service, parent organizations, legislators, and the community in general by having an active interest and involvement in community activities.
· Works with new teachers on transition to teaching in the district.
· Coordinate district at-risk program development.
· Compile and submit Homeless, Migrant, and Foster Care data for state reporting.
· Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of his/her designee.
A qualified candidate will possess the following:
· Master’s degree (In Special Education Strongly Preferred)
· Valid Michigan Administrative Certification
· At least five years of teaching and/or administrative experience
