What Will You Do?:
As an instructional designer in Federated’s Learning Center, you will impact the training and development of employees throughout the company by designing, producing, and managing learning experiences. Using your critical thinking and communication skills, you will research, develop, support, and advise both face-to-face and eLearning training. Using your strong design sense, you will create or edit materials for your own courses and those you are supporting.
This position works on site in our Owatonna, MN office.
Responsibilities:

Recommends, designs, develops, and implements instructor-led and eLearning experiences including objectives, content, instructional strategies, course materials, assessments, and evaluations.

Initiates and manages learning projects.

Follows visual design principles to create and build attractive and engaging slides, page layouts, and eLearning interactions that support and enhance the learning experience.

Organizes content in a logical way, breaking down complex concepts so they are easy to understand and writing in a way that is clear and compelling.

Serves as an expert resource on Instructional Design. Equips others who design and deliver training. Develops, maintains, and promotes the use of Instructional Design resources and documentation. Fosters sharing of ideas and information among trainers and educators in the Learning Center and functional training departments.

Develops collaborative partnerships with Federated trainers, subject matter experts, Information Services, Corporate Advertising, decision-makers and others.

Remains current on best practices, technology and tools in Instructional Design and adult learning. Proactively analyzes and identifies opportunities and makes compelling recommendations for use in the Learning Center and functional training Departments

Delivers training on assigned topics. Presents information clearly, confidently, and professionally. Works to continuously enhance instructional delivery and participant engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:

Four-year degree required. Degree in instructional design, education, communication or related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in Instructional Design, Educational Design, Training/Development, Teaching, Corporate Communications, and/or E-Learning Development.

A demonstrated aptitude for instructional design. Experience with PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud and Articulate 360 preferred.
- Project management skills and experience demonstrating the ability to plan, lead, and execute projects.
