We are looking for a Sushi Chef / Line Cook to join our culinary team and prepare extraordinary plates for our guests. Responsibilities include handling a wide range of raw fish and other ingredients, managing food stock, prepping, and attention to detail to fulfill all orders within quality standards. Ultimately, you will help us continue our reputation as the premier Asian-Fusion restaurant in the area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish (for example, salmon, tuna, yellowtail)
- Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, uramaki, nigiri, and sashimi
- Manage food prep activities, like steaming rice, cutting vegetables, and cleaning fish
- Coordinate with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
- Prepare share plates, soups, and salads
- Maintain sanitation principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift
Skills
- Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques is a plus
- Ability to work both fast and accurately
- Teamwork oriented
- Availability to work during business hours, including weekends and evenings
- Flexibility to take on various shifts
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
