Job Title: Crane Inspector
We perform third party full Crane Inspections; we are accredited by the U.S. Department of Labor. We have been in the business since 1978 and are Privately owned with our Headquarters in Houston, TX.
Location: Based in Austin, TX or within 50 miles
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the crane, lifting and material handling industry as an equipment operator, inspector, rigger, mechanic, or manager.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience inspecting cranes and equipment in some capacity such as inbound/outbound or periodic inspections. If this requirement is not met, you may be hired as an apprentice to fulfill necessary years of experience.
- New members of our team will be expected to take additional training courses and testing
- Read, understand, and apply the contents of all OSHA, ANSI, ASME and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry. Refresh and update knowledge periodically.
- Complete inspection reports and other required and appropriate documents in a professional, accurate, neat, and legible manner and submit same in a timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines. Review job with Service Manager, discussing repair issues and customer feedback received during the inspection review.
- Must be a self-motivated individual as you will be setting your own schedule and communicating directly with customers and their scheduling needs. Must have the ability to function independently, be flexible and to interact with customers and employees in a professional manner.
- Must have strong organizational skills to maintain expense reports, inspection documents and files.
- Must be proficient in computer applications such as Excel, Word, Google Maps and Email
- Extensive travel is required but overnight stays are the exception not the rule.
- Must be fit to climb cranes and lifts during inspections.
- Kempco is a drug free workplace. Must successfully complete Drug Screen and Background Investigation. Must have valid and clear driver’s license and be able to secure a TWIC card.
- Applicant will be field based, servicing Austin, TX and surrounding area.
