INTRODUCTION
The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) provides death, disability, and pension retirement benefits to employees of local governments and school districts in Illinois (with the exception of the City of Chicago and Cook County). SUMMARY
Administer the team’s primary digital communication channels: IMRF’s public website, its employee intranet, social media channels, and digital video displays. Utilizing these channels, deliver content provided by communications specialists. Analyze and report analytics to identify improvements. Execute development projects, both independently and in partnership with external vendors and IMRF Information Services. Administer IMRF’s electronic surveying program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Public website, employee intranet, digital video displays
- Using the Sitecore Content Management System, administer IMRF’s public website, employee intranet, and digital video displays in the Oak Brook and Springfield offices.
- Using written and visual content provided by others, execute all Sitecore content updates.
- Coordinate with other members of the Communications team to ensure delivery of consistent information across all digital communications channels.
- Develop and propose strategies for new website design and functionality to improve the user experience.
- Effectively collaborate with writers, designers, subject matter experts, other relevant staff members and other stakeholders to plan functionality and design that aligns with a functional, effective, and user-friendly website.
- Execute development projects, both independently and in partnership with external vendors and IMRF Information Services.
- Performs multiple browser and device testing before finalizing updates.
- Ensure content conforms to Search Engine Optimization best practices.
- Maintain and improve existing taxonomies and metadata frameworks for grouping and tagging of content.
- Train and support IMRF staff authorized to add content directly to Sitecore; publish content after ensuring quality standards are met.
- Collect and report on analytics.
- Stay current on design trends, technology developments, and user experience innovations.
Social media
- 1-2 Weekly social media posts via IMRF’s Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and Vimeo platforms.
- Monitor online comments and partner with IMRF Member Services representatives on responses.
- Collect and report on analytics.
- Upload video and manage Vimeo site.
Other tasks
- Support IMRF’s Voice Of the Customer (VOC) program through survey design, dissemination, and reporting.
- Support the eventual transition of IMRF’s websites to a new Content Management System.
- Build and send Code of Conduct Training to staff in the Fall and Spring
- Take New Hire Photos
- Execute other projects, as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 3 years’ experience utilizing content management systems to administer websites
- At least 3 years of experience designing and maintaining websites, including page layout, design, and navigation
- Experience with Web analytics
- Experience with search engine optimization
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, MS Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to gather and organize information and work with others
- Expert level attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience utilizing Sitecore and/or SiteFinity CMS
- Project management experience
