Fireball Tool is a tool company and media production studio with the goal to create original and improved tools for machinists and fabricators, as well as educating them on these innovative inventions. We showcase the tools in action on our website, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other social media platforms. The video content is designed to educate, entertain, and inspire domestic and global audiences.
We've been growing! Our future sights are set toward expanding toward long-form television production, so we hope to add people to our team that will join us on that journey.
We are looking for a creative and collaborative Video Producer who has editing and cinematography skills & experience to join our expanding team on-site 4 days a week. The videos we film closely align with documentary & reality storytelling. Recently, we've shot commercials of our products for network television and streaming services.
Job description
The Video Producer will work with a team that focuses on producing high quality videos for our Fireball Tool video platform hosted on our website, other social medias, and now television! The Video Producer will be responsible for creating an optimized production workflow as well as co-direct, film, edit, and deliver projects. This is a highly collaborative job that seeks out ambitious persons who will be responsible for ensuring quality videos are delivered on time as well as handle information technology and maintain proper knowledge of all machines inside the workshop. Other responsibilities include SFX, titles, color grading, and some minor VFX. They will be expected to learn how to maintain the camera gear, capture video, archive media, and lead the project edit from start to finish.

This position is full-time and on-site in Spokane, Washington and offers no remote work.
This position requires 10 hour work days 4 days a week.
2 weeks of travel are expected every year. (We go to trade shows in Las Vegas, Chicago, or Miami)
The applicant should have strengths in:
- Structured & Creative Storytelling (and how to shape it in production and post-production, as well as effectively deliver educational information in an entertaining fashion)
- Collaborating with the lead directors and other team members
- Managing the filmmaking pipeline, from organizing pre-production, planning production, and leading post-production
- Non-linear Editing (whether in Adobe Premiere or Davinci Resolve, though we prefer Davinci)
- Visual Effects (achieved using After Effects, Cinema 4D, or other like-software)
- Cinematography (with Canon Cine cameras, Phantom Slow Motion, DJI Drones, and DSLRs), using camera and lenses to create proper framing and exposure
- Lighting (how to use light to tell the story, highlight products effectively)
- Audio (such as Adobe Audition, and how to create superb sound effects and balance voice with music, as well as field-record audio)
- Title Design (with built in title plugins to create easy-to-read titles and aesthetically match the content)
- Animation Supervision (how to direct, storyboard, and communicate with animators)
- Information Technology (and how to run and troubleshoot a NAS as well as maintenance)
- Learn about Machine Shops (how tools and machines work and how to use them safely)
What to expect on a daily basis:
- Be responsible for creating compelling stories that follow the Director’s journey of invention, fabrication, and production
- Work with the team to present new ideas, complete edits from rough to final in a fast-paced environment, and preserve brand identity within a cohesive story
- Balance the schedule and clearly communicate with the Director on project status as well as receive constructive criticism in order to iterate a tailored production process
- Ability to be flexible, as there will be many projects in the pipeline at any given time
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that arise during the production process, as there must be no challenge that cannot be creatively overcome
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, lights, cameras, and tripods that may exceed 50lbs
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Work 10 hours daily in-person
- Be ambitious, self-starting, team-oriented, and ready to tackle any project enthusiastically

The applicant must provide a resume, a cover letter explaining why they would be a good fit, and a portfolio of work. If these requests are not met, we will not be able to move forward with the application. Attention to detail is a must-have qualification. As part of the application process, the applicant will be expected to complete a test edit that should take no more than 5 hours to complete.
