Summary:
The Early Childhood Educational Trainer is a supportive role responsible for providing various types of training and education to center staff at multiple childcare centers. The purpose of this position is to ensure compliance and regulations are being followed. Our childcare centers are ministry-centered, developmentally appropriate programs of quality preschool that are in an environment that aligns with the mission of River City Church: “to create a community where waves of people are transformed by the love of God.”
The Early Childhood Educational Trainer demonstrates the following qualities and is passionate in the following areas (but not limited to just these): providing a safe, healthy, consistent, positive, caring environment to children in your care as well as members of your staff. Support parents/employees by establishing a good rapport, positive methods of communication, and mutual care practices for children. Serve the community with a passion for ministry and love for Jesus.

Leadership
- Partner with staff, pastors, and church members to share space, create a unified environment, and establish a common vision.
- Assists in the development strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Develop and cultivate a bridge to the center families to River City Church.
- Maintain self-motivation with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, financial, and communication skills.
- Participate in strategic planning and development of the vision for the childcare ministry.
- Lead in sharing the vision of the ministry to the parents, staff and the community.
- Be here, be on time, and be enthusiastic.
Administration
- Has extensive knowledge regarding Paths to Quality (PTQ)
- Comply with program components, policies, and guidelines to maintain compliance with Paths to Quality and Registered Ministry standards.
- Ensure state regulations are being followed consistently
- Consistently providing training, scheduled and whenever an opportunity presents itself

- Lead or facilitate trainings
- Develop and maintain relationships with state childcare licensing agency, Food Program, Parent and community groups. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries in a timely manner.
- Review and evaluate staff performance.
- Creates training templates and videos on various subjects including curriculum.
- Sets standards and aids in professional development.
- Works closely with Directors and Hiring Coordinator
- Assist the Director develop and ensure all policy, procedures, and systems function systematically and efficiently as needed.
- Backup support for behavioral assistance as needed
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedules and direct personnel and volunteers as needed.
- Ensure child outcomes and needs are met through curriculum, assessments, parent conferences, and other resources.
- Ensure teachers and staff are provided with training, professional development, and growth opportunities.
- Assist in the oversight of the regular implementation of the curriculum and the incorporation of Biblical teaching and literacy components as needed
- Be willing to open and/or close a site
- Help director with anything that they need to delegate to you, such as reports, payroll, 504 coordinator, or special projects.
- Be willing to help with billing and voucher reconciliation as needed.
- Be familiar and willing to help with food program regulations and policies.
- Assist in helping create and maintain the daily schedule as needed
- Attend and help lead monthly staff meetings and other mission-related meetings, trainings and events.
- Assist in supervision of lesson plans, environments and teachers and hold them accountable to results of excellence.
- Assists in maintaining environments conducive to learning and exploration and compliant with Paths to Quality and other state standards.
- Assist in training teachers during the workday and help resolve any issues or struggles in the classroom.
- Maintain communication with parents about their classrooms through e-mails and verbal communications.
- Assist in the monitoring of teacher-parent communications.
- Support teachers in monitoring children’s progress by documenting learning experiences and collecting portfolio entries.
- Be prepared to answer questions concerning classroom purposes, curriculum themes, age-appropriate developmental milestones, and classroom schedules.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment.
- Report to parents any accidents, incidents, health concerns and transitions involving their child through accident/incident reports, phone calls, and/or face-to-face communication.
- Offer opportunities for families to be involved in their child’s learning experience.
- Address breaches in policy and procedure and provide training and positive feedback to staff.
- Maintain the privacy of each family and the staff by complying with River City Church’s “standards of confidentiality”.
- Assist in instructing Leads, Assistants and Substitutes of classroom etiquette and procedures.
- Assist in Ordering and/or purchasing supplies for center upon purchase request approval.
- Be a team player. Take initiative to complete a task that you see needs done or delegate with effectiveness and follow through.
- Back up to all positions when needed, including classrooms, kitchen, bus driver, and back for director.
- Prepared to be Food Monitor at any site at any time
Job Requirements | Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education with Early Childhood credit hours or related degree. (required)
- CDA required
- Five years of professional experience in a preschool or early childhood center
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as hours are based on the needs of multiple sites
- Required teacher training experience; Must be familiar with training, mentoring, and providing support through current and new curriculum as well as learning new teaching strategies.
