The California State University, Dominguez Hills Toro Auxiliary Partners (CSUDH TAP) is a non-profit organization and was incorporated in 1968 as a partner of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) to provide supplemental services that enhance core academic programs that are an integral part of the University's educational mission. Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the HR Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator will offer administrative support to the HR Department and employees funded by grants and contracts. Key responsibilities include onboarding new employees, administering HRIS, handling personnel transaction requests, managing employee records, providing compliance training, assisting with timekeeping, and collaborating with campus constituents to deliver high-quality human resources and payroll support. This role ensures adherence to HR policies and procedures and contributes to the HR team's overall effectiveness.
This position is full-time, benefited, and non-exempt. Onsite, 1- 2 day remote after probation period.
Hourly rate: $26.53.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for onboarding new part-time hires.
- Handle new hire requests, including assigning background checks/livescans, preparing offer letters, and coordinating new hire onboarding activities.
- Initiate the automated new hire process through Paychex and manage the database to ensure timely completion of new hire tasks.
- Conducted new hire orientation and completed onboarding for all new part-time hires in all systems (Paychex, other related spreadsheets).
- Enter all personnel data into HRIS based on New Hire/Personnel Transaction forms, ensure that appropriate/required documentation is provided and maintained, and ensure that no unauthorized or unapproved HR/Payroll data is entered into HRIS.
- Assign and track training courses for all part-time employees.
- Assist with the development and implementation of training programs.
- Support payroll activities by reviewing, editing, and managing electronic timecards under the direction of the Payroll Specialist to ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
- Manage Youth Abuse training and Defensive Driving Program activities.
- Support in researching new laws/regulations and other auxiliaries to benchmark operational needs, forms, reports, and policies.
- Provide friendly, prompt customer service to colleagues and internal customers.
- Directly assist the HR Manager with recruiting, compliance, record-keeping, and general administration.
- Maintain employee files, updating and accurately maintaining data promptly.
- Assist employees with general HR/payroll questions and educate them on company-specific HR policies as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality concerning all matters and documents.
- Support in complying with audit document requests.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of human resources experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with HRIS and applicant tracking system (ATS).
