POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patent Engineer will work with the management, R&D team, as well as patent firm partners to assess cutting edge inventions and offer evaluations and conduct the copywriting. This position is an exciting opportunity for an engineer to gain experience working in a robotic swimming pool industry on a wide array of matters involving cross-industry technology and global markets. This is an entry level position that does not require legal training or passage of the Patent Bar exam.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate patents, technologies, and markets and report to the management on the engineering strength of the technologies
- Quickly understand the inventions from the management and engineering team, draft the descriptions and drawings of the invention and prepare the claims
· Work closely with patent firm(s) to finalize the invention document with the descriptions, drawings and claims
· Analyze issues of patent validity and invalidity, and prepare claim charts to support patent litigation
- Analyze technologies regarding issues of patent infringement and non-infringement, and prepare claim charts to support litigation
- Perform technical review and citation checking of legal briefs in patent litigation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science is required
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience OR an advanced technical degree (M.S. or Ph.D.)
- Professional reading and writing skills in English and Chinese
· Ability to draft and analyze electrical elements and systems using CAD software

- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and ask the right questions that challenge and improve the quality of recommendations and outcomes.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
