Registers new library users and issues library cards.
Assists patrons with copier, fax, and printer.
Maintains good relations with the public and other library staff; communicates effectively, courteously and tactfully.
Assists library users in locating materials or refers them appropriately to others who can help. Handles patron complaints and problems patiently and decisively.
Performs reference and reader’s advisory services in person, by telephone and by e-mail using materials in a variety of formats.
Assists and instructs library users in the use of public computers, library catalog, and digital library resources.
Maintains thorough knowledge of circulation system, library policies and procedures, library services and collection, and digital resources.
Interprets library rules and policies to public and staff in a friendly manner
Troubleshoots issues with Internet access
Any related tasks as required for the efficient and effective operation of the Library
Participates in the development and presentation of staff meetings and staff training opportunities.
May participate or work with outreach and programming activities occasionally.
Keeps library staff informed of services and activities
Prepares narrative, statistical, and other reports as requested by the Library Director
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.39 - $12.43 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
